Spacemail CardDAV setup in Apple Contacts

In this article, you’ll find comprehensive instructions for configuring Spacemail address book in Apple Contacts via CardDAV protocol.

Note: The configuration details can be checked by clicking on a mailbox in Spacemail Manager; you’ll see a button labelled “CalDAV & CardDAV” in the mailbox side panel. Clicking this button opens a detailed panel displaying all protocol information:

To configure a CardDAV account in Apple Contacts, follow the instructions below:

  1. Open the Apple Contacts Preferences:


  2. In the “Accounts” window, click + to add a new CardDAV account:


  3. Choose Other Contacts Account and click Continue:


  4. Once done, a new window to fill in the CardDAV account settings should appear.

    The settings should be filled in as follows:

    CardDAV
    Account Type: Manual
    User Name: Your Spacemail address (note: our test email address spstest@spaceship.com is used as an example)
    Password: Password for your Spacemail account
    Server Address: carddav.spacemail.com

    To add your CardDAV account, click Sign in:


  5. To end the setup, close the “Accounts” window:


  6. The Spacemail CardDAV account should be added to Apple Contacts:
