First, you need an authorization code (also known as an EPP, auth code, or transfer code). You can find it with your existing registrar.

Unlock your domains

You may need to disable the registrar lock with your current registrar. Head there to check before transferring.

Start your transfer

Use the search bar to find your domain. Enter your auth code and check out. Normally, transfers autocomplete in 30 minutes, but no longer than 5 days max.

What am I paying for during a transfer?

You only pay for 1-year renewal when you transfer an eligible domain. The year is added to your current expiration date, so no registration time is lost.

Can expiring or expired domains be transferred?

The price of transferring a domain name depends on your TLD. Check the pricing table to see yours. All transfer prices include a 1-year renewal period, added on to your current registration period with your previous registrar.

Head to your Domain Manager, select your domain, hit Transfer in the side panel, select Transfer domain, and complete the process from there.

Disclaimers

After the transfer process completes, domains that use your previous registrar's default nameservers will stop working, resulting in downtime for any connected services. To minimize the downtime, please use the solution provided in the Transfer Manager app once you have submitted a transfer order.

After transfer completion, a 1-year renewal will be added to the top-level domains (TLDs) that are mandated by ICANN or the corresponding registry to be renewed. .ai, .uk, .co.uk, .me.uk, and .org.uk TLDs will not be renewed. The .ai registry charges a $140 fee for all .ai transfers. This fee is not imposed by Spaceship and is mandatory by the registry. It will be listed as the price, at the time of placing a transfer order.

You'll receive a free domain privacy subscription provided with every eligible domain registration or transfer. Your subscription is provided by Withheld for Privacy and the services agreement it holds with Spaceship. Terms and conditions apply.

Due to the registry restrictions, domain privacy is unavailable for certain TLDs. Check the Domain Privacy page for more information.

If you have renewed your expired domain with your previous registrar, we recommend waiting 45 days after the original expiration date before transferring to Spaceship. This prevents the previous registrar from revoking the renewal year once the transfer is complete.
