Spacemail AI Assistant is designed to help you write smarter and faster. Available directly in the Compose window, it allows you to generate professional email drafts from just a few short words. Whether you're starting a new message or replying to an existing thread, the assistant helps you save time and improve communication quality.

Explicit user consent is required before using AI for the first time or when data sharing is re-enabled
Consent can be revoked anytime via Settings in Spacemail webmail
AI features can be toggled on/off to show or hide the AI prompt in the Compose window
Context‑aware replies: the AI Assistant can generate replies based on both your input and the context of the existing email thread. The system fetches relevant thread content as text only (excluding images and attachments), prioritizes recent messages if the thread is too long, and generates the reply in the thread’s language unless specified otherwise. This feature applies to Reply, Reply All, and Forward actions only.
How it works
AI consent dialog: A consent dialog appears when accessing the AI Assistant for the first time or after re-enabling data sharing—whether composing a new email, replying, replying to all, or forwarding. The dialog explains how data is used and requires confirmation before the AI Assistant can process any input.

Settings: the AI section allows you to:
View or revoke their consent at any time
Manage data usage preferences
Enable or disable AI features- this controls whether the AI prompt is shown in the Compose or Reply window or not.
When you click on Manage your AI preferences, you will see the following window:

You’ll see that the AI prompt is hidden when the feature is turned off. However, you can still access it anytime by clicking the ✨ icon in the Compose window.

That’s it!
