Data theft is a constant issue online. Fortunately, email encryption is one way to protect your private information from malicious actors.
At Spaceship, your privacy and security are at the heart of what we do. We want to ensure that whether you use your email account for personal or business needs, you’re always provided with the best options to protect your data.

In addition to our default encryption, you can also add password protection to your email. The recipient will need to enter the password you set in order to read the email.
This means only the recipient, who knows the password you set, can read the email. It’s a great way to guarantee an email’s security, as you won’t always know how well your recipient is protecting their own accounts and devices from cybercrime.
This feature also allows you to email people who are not Spacemail users and for it still to be encrypted. In these instances, the recipient will receive an email with a link to the whole message, which will be hosted on our secure servers. The message will only be decrypted when the recipient enters the correct password.
After reading, the recipient can reply back securely from the same page.

Yes, you can use Spacemail with all of these protocols to connect to third-party applications. Simply log in to Spacemail and enable IMAP/SMTP/POP3 for your mailbox in the Settings menu before you configure them in the email application of your choice.

Yes, it is possible to send encrypted messages to anyone, whether or not they use Spacemail. However, if they use another provider, they will be forwarded to a separate Spacemail page where they can read the email after entering the password provided by the sender. From here, they can reply to the email with their own encrypted email (which may not be possible with their own provider).

Absolutely! Migrating to Spacemail is easy with an email client. Just follow these steps:

Log in to your Spacemail mailbox and go to your settings to enable IMAP/SMTP connections. Click "See configurations" to get the details you'll need on the next step.
Use any email client (we recommend Thunderbird) to add both your third-party and Spacemail mailboxes to see them in a single interface.
Within the email client, select all messages in your old account and move them (by simply dragging and dropping) from your old inbox folder into your new inbox folder. You can move subfolders the same way to keep your folder structure intact. The process may take a while depending on the number of messages.
